SPRING SEASON AUDITIONS

WHAT: Auditions for Macbeth, Madame X, and Much Ado About Nothing (see details for each below)

By appointment ONLY. To schedule, email auditions@austinshakespeare.org with interest, headshot, and resume. Those who cannot attend should submit 1-2 min video(s) with monologue(s) utilizing “heightened language” through our website before December 31, 2025. Monologues may be memorized or can be read with familiarity. Welcoming all ethnicities and genders. Age is a matter of appearance.

Alumni actors who have been in Austin Shakespeare shows before should contact: auditions@austinshakespeare.org about their interest.

Rehearsals for major productions are generally Monday-Thursday from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturdays 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., and Sundays 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Most will be at the Asian American Resource Center Cameron Road during the week, with weekends at Tapestry Studios.

Macbeth

Seeking a child actor to play Macduff's son (can be played by girl) who appears to be about age 10. Actors of color are especially encouraged. Must have some stage experience. Performances will be at the The Rollins Theater at the Long Center on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 3:00 pm from February 13 - March 1, 2026. Tech rehearsals are evenings beginning on Monday, February 9, 2026 through to opening night. Weekend and weeknight rehearsals have already begun. Some pay. Madame X (staged reading)

Madame X, the story of the creation of the John Singer Sargent painting, will be a Staged reading at KMFA Studio on March 21-22 performances. Rehearsals begin March 14, 2025. Four roles available. All non-Equity cast.

Much Ado about Nothing

Much Ado about Nothing will be performed outdoors at Zilker Hillside theater.  Two Equity Actor contracts are available under an SPT1.  Rehearsals begin April 13, 2026. Performances are May 7 - 24, 2026.
